Replacing an evaporator coil in a r410a Ruud split system. Everything is going along pretty smooth, so smooth that you start to say ok this is going to easy whats wrong.
Time to pressure check. I dump some nitrogen in bring it to 50 psi for a quick check then up to 340 psi for final check.
Seems we have a leak. All my brazing seems fine no issues found.
Turns out the service valves must have been over heated on install and when I brought the nitrogen up to 340+ psi for the check I was back feeding the nitrogen into the condenser.
Great nitrogen in the freon.
Reclaim charge, pressure test entire system, vacuum and recharge.
All ends well 10 degree subcool 21 degree t/d.
Mystery leak solved.
